Our work with:
Weydon School - It Takes a Village to Raise a Child

Emotion required!!

When Weydon Secondary School approached us to help create a film for fund-raising, we were naturally interested. Our founders had 3 children in the school when they approached us, so it felt like a great opportunity to offer our expertise and time. The school wanted to raise awareness around the significant (and growing) gap between government funding and the actual cost of a well-rounded, country-leading education, to help encourage local parents and businesses to offer more support where possible.

Along with the talented Marketing lead at Weydon, we created the idea of showcasing the many areas of support throughout the school that fell slightly outside the remit of traditional teaching, while showing off the incredible facilities at the school. The idea of the film following a crafted poem was conceived while we started gathering footage at some of the many school events.

It became apparent that to record the candid footage required, FTH would have to become regular faces at the school. Not only to allow for the AMOUNT of footage required, but also for the kids to become quite relaxed about us filming there. Regular visits to Weydon allowed us to create a bank of footage that represented the school. What followed was almost a year of insights. Glimpses into practice, teamwork, learning, engagement, excellence, messing around and focussing (kids and cameras.)

The school had a direct motivation for the film. To create change: To persuade parents and local businesses to offer help, whether that was financial help or an offer of time. To create the desired effect, we needed to create a film that set the correct tone - too cap-in-hand and the film would be perceived as begging, too subtle and we wouldn't get the message across. We decided to feature the kids of the school narrating the poem - parents would watch to see if they caught a glimpse of their kids = guaranteed engagement.

Two students in King's InterHigh Online School uniforms and safety goggles conduct a science experiment in a classroom. One pours liquid with a pipette into a funnel lined with filter paper as the other observes closely.

"We are so very grateful! You took a simple concept and transformed it into a beautiful piece that exceeded all our expectations. To top it off you were an absolute pleasure to work with. We cannot thank you enough."

A group of performers on stage sing passionately, with a woman in a white dress and veil and a man in a white suit at the front, as a large chorus stands behind them—an inspiring scene from King's InterHigh Online School.
